The engine is shot, but that doesn't matter since I'll be replacing that with an electric motor.

 

My work is about 21 miles away from my house. So to make it to work and back each day, I need no less than a 50 mile range. To make this an overall practical use automobile, my goal is to have a 100 mile range. To do this, I plan on incorporating the following features:

• regenerative breaking
   
• ultra capacitors to store the captured power from regenerative  breaking
   
• lithium-ion (Lifepo4), foam lead acid, or EEStor battery technology
 

• a battery management system with an on board computer interface that I will develop
   
• I might even try to incorporate solar panels; we'll see
